Nose massage is recommended for some patients experiencing significant and persistent swelling after four weeks of healing. It helps reduce swelling and soften the tissues. This applies to approximately one in eight patients, particularly those with thick, oily skin.

⚠️ Begin only one month after the procedure, after consulting your doctor.

Perform the massages once or twice a day for about five minutes.

Before starting, wash your hands and apply a neutral moisturizer. The massage should be gentle, painless, and ideally performed in front of a mirror.

⚠️ Ensure your movements are perfectly symmetrical. Initially, it is easier to have someone else perform the massage.

Technical

  • Massage the bridge of the nose from top to bottom for one to two minutes, without applying pressure to the tip.
  • Make small circular motions with moderate pressure on the sides of your nose for 1 to 2 minutes, extending the movement towards your cheeks (lymphatic drainage area).
  • Finish with a gentle massage of the tip of your nose, using light pinching and circular motions, for about 1 minute. (Optional)

⚠️ Never apply excessive pressure. Stop immediately if you experience pain and do not continue if you notice increased swelling.

These massages complement nighttime taping, which will help prevent your nose from swelling while lying down.
